THEATRE EXPERIENCE

About Me: Welcome

Before I was a Community Health Major I was a Theatre major. Theatre has been a part of my life since I was in elementary school. I have performed in many plays in community theatre and college, and competed in theatre competitions. I also performed in some student films.

THE LADY IN THE TOWER

This is a picture from "The Lady in the Tower". For this particular performance we learned Ariel silks and Trapeze work and adapted it to fit our script.
This was a unique piece because we devised this piece meaning that we added in elements that weren't in the original story.
This was an all girls cast and we worked on this play for about a year before performing for a crowd.
At the end of the semester I earned an award titled "Excellence in Ensemble Movement" for this play.

BECKETTS ACT WITHOUT WORDS

This piece was also unique because it was student directed AND we couldn't talk. The entire piece was performed with only body movement, lights, props and sound.

THE WHITE WHALE

This was the first college play I was in. It's an interesting story how I got into this play. There was about one-two weeks before the play was to be performed and someone dropped out. They needed someone to take the role of "Captain Boomer" and I decided to fill the role! I memorized all my lines, choreography, and even musical numbers in about one-two weeks.
I was nominated for the "Best Cameo Performance" and won. It was a great experience and I loved every second.

MY FOREVER DUDE

About Me: Welcome

06-10-2017

I thought it would be fun to share how my husband and I met (and yes we do call each other dude sometimes).
He's the absolute best and my very best friend.

WHERE WE MET

This is an embarrassing story on my end. Chad (my husband) and I were going to college at Dixie State University and we were taking the same English class. Class had just gotten out and he was walking behind me. I threw him a flirty look and then... I RAN INTO A DOOR. The door was so flippin heavy I pulled myself right into it. He made fun of me and I thought, okay this guy is pretty funny. Later on he admitted it was an extremely heavy door!

HOW HE PROPOSED

Chad took me to a cabin with all our friends over the weekend. I had no idea he was going to propose to me. It was the last day there and he asked me if I wanted to go on a snowmobile ride. He took us up to a little clearing  and started playing Frank Sinatra's song "I love you baby". We had danced to it several times before so I didn't think anything of it. Then he said he had some snow in his shoe and wanted to get it out. He knelt down and pulled the ring out of his sock. Before he even asked me the question I had said yes!

MARRIAGE

Chad and I got married in St. George on June 10, 2017. We went to Mexico for our honey moon and it was a blast. He's truly the best dude around and I couldn't be happier. I look forward to many more laugh filled years.

MY THREE BIGGEST FEARS

About Me: Welcome

GRASSHOPPERS

I can't believe I willing put a grass hopper picture on my website. Here is why I'm absolutely terrified of grasshoppers.

When I was younger there was this little town store and one day it was over come by grasshoppers... I mean they were everywhere.

As we were driving I could hear them crunching under the tires. They had gotten into the store, and were jumping off the walls outside. I cried haha!

Ever since then I can't keep my cool around a grasshopper. Ewww.

THE OCEAN

I like the land okay. The first time I saw the ocean I couldn't believe it... it was so big.
I am absolutely terrified of the fact that tsunamis exist, so I vowed to never ever ever live by the ocean because of it. Yikes!
I don't like that I can't see what's underneath me, and when I do it doesn't make me feel any better haha!
I appreciate the ocean, but I never want to live by it, maybe a visit, but even then... gives me the creeps.

TIGHT SPACES

I don't remember discovering my fear of tight spaces. I wasn't always scared of it, it just happened I guess.
I do remember this one time when I got invited to go to a slot canyon. Why would anyone willingly do that? If you like doing that good for you, but doesn't it freak you out a little bit?
I mean what if you get stuck, ugh, no thanks. Not for me dudes.

THREE OF MY FAVORITES

About Me: Welcome
Red Mountain

MOUNTAINS

When you're from a small country town mountains become a fun pass time. I love going for hikes and breathing in the fresh mountain air.
I grew up with red mountains and loved to go explore gods beautiful earth.
Any chance I get to escape to the mountains with friends and family I do!

T.V.

Okay, okay, I know no one likes to admit they like T.V. but I do, and frankly I'm not ashamed of it.
Growing up my family and I would sit down and watch movies together, friends would come over late at night and watch scary movies, and going to the movie theater was a treat!
I have a lot of fun memories spending time with loved ones watching T.V.
I also love analyzing films as well.

ACROBATICS

I have always enjoyed moving my body.
I got offered a role in, "The Lady in the Tower" and got to learn acrobatics.
It literally changed my life! I still do it to this day.
There's something about hanging upside down several feet in the air that really puts life into perspective.
It's a great way to explore what my wonderful body is capable of.

LYRA

I recently tried the Lyra and it was a lot of fun! The Lyra is a big metal hoop that you do tricks on! It's a lot harder than it looks!

ARIEL SILKS

Ariel Silks are by far my favorite out of every acrobatic movement I've attempted.
